Rumors that Garmin is designing a dedicated smartwatch for women quickly became a reality: the company officially announced it. Garmin calls the new watch, which is offered in several design options, a fashionable watch, and as we have already written, it offers a configuration that is only colors that ‘fit women’, but a redesign that is more suitable for small hands than measurements.
For example, the surface area of the watch is only 34 mm compared to the surface area of 38-40 mm in the case of regular watches, which usually take into account a design that is more suitable for men. The design of the strap is also completely different and not only in the width of 14 mm but also in that it is caught on the watch itself at one large point in the middle and not with two connections to the edges of the watch – which is much nicer, although of course it can be argued that it is a matter of taste and smell.
The LCD screen is monochromatic and should help the watch hold up to five working days, and as with most watches there is a heart rate monitor at the bottom, a blood oxygen sensor and the watch offers the expected features like activity measurement and a mechanism that helps to breathe to relax. There is no GPS however, and on the other hand there is an option to monitor menstruation and pregnancy status.
But even in the case of the Garmin Lily there is a sportier version and a classic version. The sporty one offers a silicone strap and an aluminum watch frame for $ 199.99, while the classic one is equipped with a leather strap and a stainless metal frame for $ 249.99.
The watch will be officially available in Israel starting next week at NIS 899 for a sporty model (white, gold or black and purple) and NIS 1,119 for the classic design.
