More than a year has passed since the launch of Galaxy Watch in Israel , and now we can finally get our more advanced model with independent cellular connectivity. This is after Pelephone today announced the start of marketing of the Samsung smartphone version, which contains an eSIM chip – the chip that replaces the SIM card and allows the user to connect it to any supporting cellular provider without the need for its dedicated plastic card, through a short service subscription .
This is the second smartphone sold in Israel with eSIM technology, after last summer Pelephone and Partner began selling the fourth generation Apple Watch with this technology. While the watch is designed for all Android devices (Android), it runs Samsung’s Tizen Wearable OS 4 so it works with iOS devices as well.
Pelephone will offer the mobile watch in its two sizes, with the larger, 46 mm diameter and silver color with a black strap, costing NIS 1,799, while the smaller size, 42 mm diameter, will be sold in the pink gold version (gold colored body with a pinkish strap ) For NIS 1,599. Apart from cellular connectivity, it’s a watch nearly the same as the Galaxy Watch sold in Israel since 2018: It is based on the Exynos 9110 dual-core chip at up to 1.15 GHz, though its working memory has doubled to 1.5 Gb. Built-in storage stays only 4 gigabytes, so there’s not much room for songs and apps. The screen is a Super AMOLED 360 × 360 pixel resolution, with a smaller version of 1.2 inches and 1.3 inches in size. It is coated with Gorilla Glass DX + glass, and complies with IP68 and 5 ATM standards up to a depth of 50 meters.
Besides cellular connectivity it includes GPS, WiFi b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC for making payments. The battery is at 270 m / h in the small version, and 472 m / h in size, the charging is done wirelessly, the weight is 49 or 63 grams, respectively, and the tracks are interchangeable in any standard 20 or 22 mm band.
