HOT is launching its fiber-optic network today (Monday), just two weeks after Bezeq . Hot’s network already allows more than 600,000 households to connect at speeds of up to 1,000 megabits, with the price of this package for the first three months standing at NIS 119 per month, and then NIS 149 per month. It should be emphasized that this amount does not include the rent for the modem, which is NIS 19.90 per month, and the installation fee, which costs about NIS 530, which can be spread over 36 payments.
Connectors to the HOT fiber optic network will be rented a modem and a HOT BOX 5F wireless router, a model that supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard, is capable of connecting to additional units via the MESH network, and is managed by a dedicated application. In addition to the fiber-optic network, Hot will continue to offer a broadband connection through existing cable technology, but the 100-megabit package, which has so far been the company’s bottom line, has been removed from the selection.
Customers who have been connected so far at this speed, as well as in the 200-megabyte package, will receive a free upgrade during the first year to the 500-megabit package. According to HOT, these are about 100,000 customers who will have a faster Internet connection starting today without the need for any action on their part.
Simultaneously with this launch, Hot also announced a service called HOT TV which is a kind of equivalent to Yes Plus , an app for smart TVs and media streamers (streamers) that will allow full access to all of Hot TV’s content, as well as the option for cloud recording. HOT will also launch Android-based media streams called HOT Streamer, which also allows full access to the Google App Store.
