Dell, under its gaming brand Alienware , has launched at Gamescom 2019 a variety of screens and monitors designed for the gaming market. The highlight of this launch is the Alienware 55 OLED Gaming Monitor – a screen that displays a 55-inch panel and a 4K resolution based on OLED technology. It is not the largest display launched for the gaming market, but it is the first such scale to offer OLED usage.

The screen is coated with a reflection prevention layer and offers a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. This makes it one of the fastest 4K screens on the market today, and it supports AMD’s FreeSync standard, which allows you to receive a signal at a variable refresh rate without displaying ‘tear-offs’ on the screen.

Although the screen was first shown at the CES 2019 exhibition , its launch was postponed due to the company’s desire to adapt its design to the new language that characterizes the company’s products focused on black / white colors with curved lines in a more mature look.

The design of the screen is indeed impressive: on the front you can only find a black display panel with the Alienware caption embedded in it without any additional lighting that might attract attention. In the back, there is a clean magnetic panel with a magnetic connection that lets you remove the cladding and expose the four HDMI 2.0 inputs, the DisplayPort 1.4 and four USB inputs. In the center is the Alien Icon, illuminated and topped by LED lighting that supports the company’s AlienFX technology that allows the lighting to be matched to the game. For example, during a police chase in the GTA, the illumination stripe will flash in blue and red.

Alienware 55 OLED Gaming Monitor will be launched in the United States and Europe on September 30 at a starting price of € 3,499.

And even more table-friendly sizes

The company introduced two additional game screens, Alienware 27 and Alienware 34, of sizes that are more desktop friendly. The 34-inch screen is equipped with a concave IPS panel, 21: 9 aspect ratio, with QHD diagnosis, maximum 120 Hz refresh rate and support for NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology . It will be launched in Europe and the Middle East on October 22 at a price of € 1,199.

His smaller 27-inch brother is equipped with a 16: 9 aspect ratio IPS panel, FHD diagnosis, and a maximum 240 Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync technology support. It will hit the markets mentioned above on November 19 at a price of € 449.
